Alternative Viewpoints
Description
This is a collection of speeches and documents that criticize the use of the term "cyberwar" to explain contemporary cyber issues that the United States faces today. They also provide alternative opinions on the threat and impact that cyber attacks may have on the critical infrastructure and security of any country connected to the internet.
This collection is particularly important because skeptical views of cyberwar are not widely publicized in the media. Being critical about how the media, government, think-tanks and military are framing cyber issues is imperative. These documents offer a comprehensive view of "cyberwar." Using the term "war" may exaggerate cyber threats and it is important to acknowledge that potential laws and policies may not necessarily be warranted or helpful in reducing risk in cyberspace.
